The kit is propelled by a diamond knurled steel drive roller that locks on top of your rear tire. The drive roller firmly grips your tire when locked in the "drive position". When locked in the "off position", the drive roller rests slightly off the tire. The drive roller is locked on and off the tire in seconds by simply sliding the unit up or down the slotted rear support bars and then locking a quick release lever.

The kit uses engines that have an automatic centrifugal clutch, which means the engine does not stall when you come to a stop when locked in the drive position, it remains idling. Your bike is essentially an automatic motorbike, just give it gas and go! The kit allows you to still use your bicycle with full functionality, with or without the engine on. You can pedal and use the engine at the same time if needed, or you can just use the engine. The kit works best if your bicycle tire has a smooth street tread to allow better contact with the drive roller. An aggressive knobby tire will not work too well, but a hybrid or cruiser style tire with thick tread works very well. Click here for tire photos.

The steel engine channel used on the kit is manufactured using laser precision technology, ensuring all holes are exact. The stainless steel drive shaft and solid steel clutch drum are supported by two high speed ball bearings that rest within the engine channel, one on each side.

The kit is available with either a 1.00" diameter standard drive roller or a 1.25" diameter one-way bearing drive roller. The 1.00" standard roller is locked on the drive shaft with 2 set screws. The 1.25" diameter drive roller has a one-way bearing that automatically locks on the drive shaft. This unique drive roller is different than the standard drive roller because it instantly releases the clutch drum from the clutch when releasing the throttle resulting in smoother down hill coasts than the standard drive roller. We also offer a standard 1.50" diameter rubber roller that can be ordered separately. Click here for more info on our drive rollers. Rollers are easy to change using standard tools and can be swapped out according to your riding needs.

We offer the complete kit already assembled for $129.00 with the 1.00" standard drive roller, or $149.00 with the 1.25" one-way bearing drive roller. All you need is the engine, throttle setup, and a bicycle! The complete kit is very easy to install and can be mounted by most customers in 20-30 minutes. We also offer all replacement parts for this kit besides the engine in our "Parts" section.
